Verbal

If you are a verbal learner, you use words to express what you mean. You probably are great at reciting rhymes and tongue twisters. When studying, it is most helpful to recite key facts repeatedly to help remember them. Try taking English, foreign language, speech, and drama classes in high school!

Visual

A visual learner is often referred to as a right-brained learner. You excel at reading data in graphs and maps, and you learn best when you can see things, such as diagrams. You will do best in your geometry and art classes in high school.

Logical

Mathematics and logical reasoning is your forte. You are able to solve complex problems involving numbers and strategies, and you tend to think linearly. You are great at calculations and strategical games, such as chess. In school, you will do best in math courses, like algebra and calculus.

Auditory

This type of learner is sometimes referred to as the musical learner. You remember conversations clearly and have strong language skills. You also have musical talent and can discern individual notes and tones. It works best for you to read out loud and come up with jingles to remember things. You will do great in music and English classes.

Social

You do your best learning through interactions with people, and you love working on group projects. Social learners love to bounce ideas off of other people and can easily read people's facial expressions and emotions. You will enjoy any classes in high school where you can collaborate with others, and you may especially enjoy psychology!

Intrapersonal

You do not mind working alone if you are intrapersonal. Working in solitude helps you collect your thoughts and stay focused. You may be interested in activities, such as reading and journaling. High school courses that will allow you to work independently will be the best fit for you.

Physical

Physical, or kinesthetic, learners need a hands-on experience. To fully learn something, you need your body to be involved in the process. You will always find yourself moving, whether that be pacing back and forth or just tapping your foot. You will excel in your physical education and lab-science classes, such as chemistry and physics, in high school.

Naturalistic

You are one with nature. In the classroom setting, it helps if you relate what you are learning to a pattern in nature. You are fascinated by the outdoors, and you do your best work and thinking when surrounded by nature. Science courses, such as biology and environmental science, will interest you the most in high school.
